How much can you say about your parents?

Is it because I am childless that I concentrate more on not having kids, or is it because I am childless that I concentrate more on having my parents to think about, worry about and commiserate about..oh, what a dilemma....STOP!

Concentrate on the reality of having parents that need care, revision and reality takes a scary turn.  I am over the top; in love with my mom and dad, but do I think I can take care of them to the bitter end...not sure, not sure at all.

What a scary thought...and ever more, what an awful thought on my mind.

Let me give you an example.  During my parents entire marriage, they had a couple they considered one of their most steady friends...I will call them Pat and Jane.  They had two daughters, Patsy and Pammy.  They divorced, he met someone new, married her, and they had another daughter, Anna.  So you have three daughters of the same man, and yet, the mother is left to make friends back on her own.  And she did.  Wonderfully. So I sat at the table during the marriage of the second wife with her third husband.  And who was there.

The children, and the first wife.

What does that tell you? That tells you that no matter the situation, and no matter the people involved, the outcome is subject to God's will and his thought.

Amen.
